I've tried numerous Free Web Hosting Services with a variety of HTML Editors and FTP Utilities (Clients). They all have limitations and some have a few strengths. MoonFruit is by far, my favorite and here's why.

  - Extremely Easy To Use - If you can use a Word Processor or Desk Top Publisher, you will find
  most functions of MoonFruit's Site Maker familiar.
  - I have experienced Near ZERO down time in the three years I've been using this Web Hosting service.
  - - Periodic updates are announced well in advance and last less than an hour. 99.99% UPTIME!
  - WebSites created with MoonFruit's Site Maker VALIDATE at the W3C. (FrontPage Does Not!)
  - You can update the WebSite from any place on the planet with a public internet connection.

So what's the "Con"? The editor is web space based and for the most part that's a good thing. However, if the hosting service ever does go down (Probably Never Will), you would not be able to upload files to another service. There is a work-around - TRICK: If you change the "veiw" to "HTML" in edit mode and then capture the source code, it appears a fully functional, albiet not pretty, file can be saved. A temporary web site would look like the below. It's the Welcome page of the website you are viewing right now - This is just the first 1/3 of the first page. Advanced Webmasters could probably write code to activate the Flash content.

TIP:  WebSites created with FrontPage, DreamWeaver and most other HTML Editors FAIL To Validate with the World Wide Web Consorium (W3C) Validation Tool! Site Maker is the only editor I found that results in a VALID WebSite - The First Time!

As I said, it's not real pretty, but for a temporary period of time, it's far better than nothing.  Check out this AWESOME service.

A couple of years ago, my bother-in-law needed to get his business WebSite back up and running - Long Story. My ISP & Phone provider was EmBarq (Used to be Sprint) and the personal webspace provided was powered by Site Maker. I was impressed with it, re-created the website there, changed the DNS pointer and Viola!

This was initially a temporary measure and I started looking for a permanent solution. When I discovered MoonFruit and found they owned Site Maker, decided to try it out - Been using both Free and Paid Web Hosting ever since. Now, several of my clients are using it.

The Free hosting is now Ad Free and the paid service has a lot more Premium attributes than the Free Service - Several levels of paid service starting at Less Than $40.00 Per Year!
